Apollo Tyres posts 17% revenue growth in Q2, appoints new CFO

Consolidated revenue reaches Rs 7,968 crores for the September quarter with net profit up 13%, while Ravi Kumar Shingari is named chief financial officer from November 4, 2026.

The Board of Directors of Apollo Tyres Ltd has approved the company's unaudited financial results for the second quarter and first half of the 2026-27 financial year, with consolidated revenue from operations reaching Rs 7,968 crores for the July-to-September quarter, a 17% increase from Rs 6,831 crores in the same period a year earlier.

For the six months from April to September, consolidated revenue totalled Rs 15,366 crores, up 15% from Rs 13,392 crores in the prior-year period. The company said its Indian operations carried their strong revenue growth momentum into the second quarter, reflecting the effectiveness of its growth initiatives.

Profit and exceptional item

Operating profit for the quarter was Rs 855 crores. Net profit rose 13% to Rs 292 crores, against Rs 258 crores in the same period last fiscal. The quarter's result includes an estimated pre-tax cost of restructuring amounting to Rs 26 crores, disclosed as an exceptional item.

At the half-year mark, operating profit was Rs 1,723 crores and net profit closed at Rs 641 crores, compared with Rs 271 crores a year earlier. The half-yearly figure also includes the estimated pre-tax restructuring cost of Rs 26 crores.

Demand drivers and headwinds

Onkar Kanwar, Chairman of Apollo Tyres Ltd, linked the Indian performance to market-facing initiatives. Growth across categories in India, he said, has been supported by sustained rural expansion efforts and a strategic association with cricket. He added that the launch of new products in the commercial vehicle segment in India strengthened performance during the past quarter.

Kanwar also pointed to external pressure on the business, stating that geopolitical tensions in West Asia remain a headwind, resulting in elevated input costs and supply chain disruptions.

Change at the finance helm

The Board also approved the appointment of Ravi Kumar Shingari as Chief Financial Officer, effective November 4, 2026. Shingari joined Apollo Tyres in 2018 as Group Head, Finance, and has held responsibilities across budgeting, accounts and investor relations; more recently he was given additional responsibility for legal.

Before joining the tyre maker, he spent more than 16 years at KPMG, where his last assignment was Partner, Tax and Regulatory. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a bachelor's degree in commerce, B.Com (H), from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University.

In the CFO role, Shingari will report directly to Neeraj Kanwar, Vice Chairman and Managing Director.
